My second day in Santiago started slowly as a slept in rather horribly late. It kicked off around 1PM with a visit to the local BGC office (a Santiago satellite office for the civil engineering firm that my dad works for). I met the staff, had a quick tour around the office and was fed some tasty sandwiches. A big thank you to Carolina and Claudia who helped set me up with my initial hotel and ride from the airport. I also met a charming woman named Montse (for short) who had recently quit her job there and was heading up to Vancouver next week to start a masters degree at UBC. I wish her all the best there and hopefully the epic Vancouver summer continues for her. After leaving the office I wandered back to my hotel and somehow ended up asleep again…
I came to in the early evening and decided to make up for my wasted daylight hours and head to the part of town best know for its nightlife. I ended up covering quite a lot of ground and captured a number of interesting shots on my walk.
A band walking down the sidewalk playing amongst the crowds drinking and dancing on Pio Nino.
A gathering of cyclists. They must be up to no good 🙂 The Virgin Mary overlooking us in the background.
